Fund manager, Vanguard Group, under pressure from investors to account for climate risks at portfolio companies, has began pushing for climate risk disclosures at large energy firms like Exxon and Occidental Petroleum during the 2017 proxy season.
Vanguard’s investment stewardship officer, Glenn Booraem, shared some of the thinking behind the firm’s change in support of climate risk-focused shareholder proposals.
